Frequently asked questions
Security & custody
How secure is my money with Tuyo?
Tuyo is self-custodial, which means you control your funds and private keys. We never take custody. Fiat services like deposits, withdrawals, and account numbers are handled through regulated partners, and your card is issued by licensed institutions.
Can I always take my money out?
Yes. Because Tuyo is self-custodial, you can always withdraw your funds in crypto to your own wallet, even if KYC fails or your account is restricted. No lock-ups, no exceptions.
Fees
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does Tuyo charge any fees? | There are no hidden fees for using your Tuyo Card or virtual account numbers — no issuance, monthly, or yearly fees. On card purchases, two fees may apply: a 1% FX fee when you spend in a currency other than USD, and a 1% abroad fee charged by our card provider on any purchase made outside the US. Both can apply together, for a total of up to 2%. |
| What are the trading fees in Tuyo? | Tuyo charges a volume fee of 25 basis points (0.25%). Bridging tokens and trading between stablecoins are exempt from the volume-based fee; only network fees may apply. |
Networks & Earn
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Which networks does Tuyo support? | You can deposit and withdraw assets on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain (BSC), and Polygon. The Tuyo Card and account services operate on Base. Tokens sent on any other network (for example Optimism) can't be recovered, so always double-check the network before sending. |
| What is Tuyo Earn? | Tuyo Earn lets you deposit USDC, EURC, ETH, or BTC to earn yield. APYs vary by strategy and are shown live in the app for each vault. |
